This glorious residential property has some 120m² of living space and a desert-style vibe that we’re big fans of here at Coolector HQ. It is a three-bedroom home designed by Studio Andrew Trotter, who was also responsible for another majestic piece of design in the shape of Masseria Moroseta.

Like the Masseria, Villa Cardo has been crafted with local materials and put together by deploying traditional building methods to make sure that the Pugliese vernacular style continues to shine through, keeping the building light, airy and cool in the hot summer months in the region. The whitewash walls on the exterior of this property give it a striking visual impact upon arrival and the traditional style of the design ensures that it fits in effortlessly in its Italian surroundings.

Relaxing Retreat

The spectacular property comprises a vast living and dining room, a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, composed of a bath, and a double shower with a highly luxurious aesthetic and finish. This bedroom has its own veranda that delivers exceptional countryside views, an outdoor bath and a private garden with an outdoor shower. There is a traditional yet contemporary feel to Villa Cardo and from the minute you step foot through the front door, you will be awash with relaxing furniture and spaces.

There are a further two bedrooms to be found in Villa Cardo from Studio Andrew Trotter, one with a double bed and one with two single beds, that can also be used as a small living area if the owners require. These bedrooms have a shared bathroom and an understated, classical interior design aesthetic that is very much in keeping with the local architecture and way of life. Downstairs in Villa Cardo, there is a TV room that can also sleep two people, a bathroom and a Turkish bath with an outdoor shower.

In addition to the main house, there is an old “lamia” country house, which can easily accommodate two people with a large bathroom. Surrounding the pool at Villa Cardo, you’ll find an outdoor kitchen with BBQ and a wood-fired oven ideal for cooking up some Italian delicacies, a dining terrace, an outdoor sofa, and sunbeds. On the roof, there is a large terrace with great views of the sea that stretch out just beyond this amazing piece of design from Studio Andrew Trotter.
