We love the limited edition collaborations between Worn & Wound and some of the world’s leading watchmakers here at Coolector HQ and they’re at it once again with this devilishly dapper Zodiac x Worn & Wound Olympos Military Watch. This majestic looking timepiece is available for the thoroughly reasonable price of $895 and will add a real touch of class to any wrist this winter. It is available in both Brown and Blue colourways so you can choose the one that bit fits in with your own unique sense of style and watch collection.
The Zodiac x Worn & Wound Olympos Military Watch ($895) is based upon a timepiece originally created back in 1961 so has a real mid century vibe to its design aesthetic. The Zodiac Olympos was a line of highly creative watches boasting a signature “manta ray” case that immediately catches the eye. Unique to Zodiac, this case design is asymmetrical across the horizontal axis of the watch, which delivers the illusion of different length lugs above and below, and moves the crown off-centre to two o’clock.
Striking Design Aesthetics
There is a really impactful visual element to the design of the Zodiac x Worn & Wound Olympos Military Watch and the swooping lines of the case are at once sophisticated and energetic, giving the Olympos’ a distinct and exciting personality that we’re loving here at The Coolector. The Olympos Military Worn & Wound Edition is a beefed-up version of the original design, based on a prototype created for the British Navy. Coming in at 40mm (38mm at the bezel), it keeps the distinct “manta ray” shape, but with a generally more robust build, a brushed finish, and an increased water resistance of some 200m.
The dial of the Zodiac x Worn & Wound Olympos Military Watch ($895) is pure classic military, with a railroad minute track around bold, lumed numerals. The hands too are a true-mil style which adds to the overall legibility of the timepiece. The Worn & Wound edition, exclusive to the Windup Watch Shop, is available in two dial colors, both including two original, US-Made straps. The first is a navy blue to black gradient with green lume, which is paired with a blue leather Model 2 Premium strap, and a special Admiralty Gray ADPT single pass with a sage keeper. It’s cool, clean, and classic.
The second version boasts a pale brown to tobacco burst with burnt, khaki lume. This version is paired with a matter whiskey brown Model 2 Premium strap (please note the strap will differ from that in the photos), and a Forest ADPT Single Pass with a Coyote keeper. This style is more rugged and vintage in its design aesthetic. Both versions feature “Worn & Wound Edition” on the case back, and are limited to 150 units. Powering the Olympos Military Worn & Wound Edition is the STP 3-13 caliber movement which is robust and reliable. This Swiss-made automatic movement features 26-jewels, swan-neck regulator, hand-winding, hacking seconds, a power reserve of 44hr, and a frequency of 28,800bph for a smooth sweeping seconds hand.
